As I went South-East it wasn't long before I found myself in Finsbury Park, and while pondering where to go next I noticed the New River Path.
Although I didn't stray from my fairly local area, I felt completely lost. I didn't know the canal was there, let alone the path, and places look pretty different from a new vantage point. I only got as far as Green Lanes where I'd have had to interrupt my non-tarmac rule if I'd wanted to continue, but it was like being in a different city.
I'm not sure its inhabitants were too friendly... Mr Swan faced me off on the way there and back (he won, I skulked against the railings trying to keep as far away as possible), and Mr & Mrs Duck (were they the Geese?), shouted themselves hoarse, maybe thinking I was threatening their chicks.
Cappuccino and a book in Finsbury Park, on the way back, rounded up a lovely (if chilly) morning.

The geese/ducks look like Coots (or Moorhens, I forget which - one has a red patch on their head; the other a white patch).
I miss Clissold Park :-(
I used to love walking along the canal from Little Venice eastwards.
Next time, maybe tomorrow, I'll turn West instead of East on the Parkland Walk :)
